Dr Christopher Lai performed a total knee replacement on my mother
My mom said Dr Lai is a hero because he did an excellent job, she doesn’t have any more pain.

I started having knee pain 4 years ago. My sister in law recommended Dr. LaI. I made an appointment with Dr LaI and received knee injections.

The injections were not helpful. I had my left total knee replacement Sept 6 2022. I had good results so I had my right knee replacement May 6, 2023. Today June 26, 2023 Dr told my its my last appointment.

Do not continue to suffer with your knee pain. See Dr Lai. He will give you good advice and he is a good surgeon.

I am very happy with him for doing all he can for my recovery.

A few months ago I developed very sharp shoulder pain. I was referred by my primary doctor to see Dr Lai .

He told me I had a rotator cuff tear that was so big big is was not repairable.
He told me that a shoulder replacement was my best option.

I had my reverse total shoudler replacement 03/21/2023.

Today was my post op visit 05/03/2023 I can move my shoulder above my head and I have much less pain.

I have put all my strengh in getting better.

I had a left knee replacement done by another surgeon in town many years ago. The day after my surgery I noticed I had something wrong with my knee. I noticed a white fluid coming out of my knee. I called the doctor's office and they said I had an infection. They cleaned and cleaned my knee but nothing worked. I continued to have severe pain and draining from my knee.

I had a Total Knee replacement with Dr Lai 7.8.2021. In Pioneers Memoral Hospital. I went through multiple treatments. From injections to therapy. I then decided to have my knee replacement. Dr Lai scheduled my surgery and explained the risks. I then spoke with surgical coordinator Rocio I also went to the joint replacement class with joint replacement coordinator George Zamora and had my surgery at the hospital I was happy, I was treated with respect. I also was seen with Isabel for my staples removal, she was very gentle and respectful. I really recommend Dr. Lai for surgery. very professional.

I am very satisfied with my surgery. I had surgery November 3, 2020. I had a reverse shoulder replacement.

Before surgery my shoulder motion was limited to only 50 %. After surgery I have had 95% improvement and it has been only 2 months since I had surgery. My therapist talks highly of Dr. Lai and my rehabilitation has shown a lot of improvement.

My wife was also seen by Dr Lai. She had a shoulder fracture and her recuperation was what made me decide to have surgery. My therapy consisted of resisting band strength.

Doctor Lai patched me up after a fall from a ladder while trimming my tree. Surgery on 9/8/20 at PMH to repair a fractured forearm was successful and quickly taken care of. Dr Lai is a very good surgeon. He did both of my total hip replacements. Im 65 an have severe arthritis. The groin pain was bad. I am now pain free. Experiencing shoulder pain both sides. Currently getting injection before we do joint replacement. I trust him. Love his office staff in brawley. He's honest an explains. He listens an cares. I was referred to san diego but why. He's great.

Dr. Lai replaced both of my husband's knees. One in December 2019, and the other in March 2020. He has made a remarkable recovery. He had been in constant pain and unable to walk without a walker. Dr. Lai did a procedure on my husband’s knee. He had two torn meniscus and a lot of debris under the knee cap. He repaired the tears, cleaned out the debris and did a little shaving to smooth out the arthritis. Total expecting him to be in a lot of pain, I asked the Dr. to make sure he had pain pills. My name is Martha Barrera. I am 82 years old. I was referred to Dr Lai by my primary doctor. I had my first appointment in April of 2018. I was suffering from severe pain in both knees. Dr Lai saw my x-rays and said I had severe osteoarthritis. He offered cortisone injections which were done. He also offered gel injections to lubricate the knees but unfortunately they were not helpful.

I then decided to have my surgery. It was a knee replacement. He explained the whole process of surgery and recovery. I did so well with my first knee replacement I decided to replace the other knee as well.

Dr Lai and staff coordinated every detail to make my surgery a success. I am now walking with very little discomfort I do have other medical issues but I am very happy I went through with the surgeries. Don’t wait too long to see my doctor. You don’t have to go out of town for surgery.

Aging has its consequences. Two years ago, in my late 60's, I started using a cane to walk. Walking, a natural process that I had taken for granted since the age of one, now became a very painful process. Dr Lai operated on my knee 6 weeks ago. I am making good progress and feeling so much better. He did an outstanding job! I suffered an injury 5 years ago. The MRI was not showing a torn meniscus and other damage I had to the articular cartliage and patella. In fact, my last MRI showed there was no damage at all... Absolutely frustrating! Had total knee replacement. Very pleased with the results. No longer in pain. Surgery was done at Pioneers Memorial Hospital. Was provided Joint Replacement educational class by the hospital.
